Untitled Ruins
Material: Fibre glass sheets, plywood, paver blocks
Location: TIFA Working Studios, Artel Residency, Pune, India
The installation aims to establish the visitor as the subject of the monument. Surrounded by pillars in a classical order and standing amidst them it commemorates the visitors' place in history. The pillars connect the space on tifa terrace to its immediate surroundings of city, state, nation and world at large. Under the sky with no roof, it also a memory of a structure.
Because of its fragile nature, the fibre glass sheets started to tumble and fall on ground as the wind started to take its toll on the monument. Nature did what it had to do. The visitors to the installation were allowed to vandalise the ruins and construct/destruct parts of the installation as they feel like.
